A team of cyclists led by Foundation trustee, Rick Jones, are cycling from London to Manchester for the First Utility Super League Grand Final on 10th October, in order to raise money for two important charitites, Joining Jack and the London Rugby League Foundation.
Joining Jack is fighting to find a cure for Duchenne Musclar Dystrophy, a genetic illness which causes muscle degeneration and premature death in young boys. Jack is now 7, and was diagnosed in Oct 2011 - his Dad, Andy, used to play rugby league for Wigan and London Broncos. One of the team's nephew has also been diagnosed with the illness.
The London Rugby League Foundation is responsible for the grass roots development of rugby league in London. As such, it provides youth development and coaching in some of London's most deprived areas. London already provides several current Super League players and England internationals, and could one day help London get to the Grand Final.
Donations to the cause would be gratefully received. You can donate through our website, Virgin Money Giving here, or if you prefer, send a cheque made out to "London Rugby League Foundation" to our office at 20 Fitzroy Square, London, W1T 6EJ
Thanks for your support!
