Ruddock and Bentley to Clash Heads!

28th June 2016

Soccer legend, Neil “Razor” Ruddock and rugby hero, John Bentley are set to clash in spectacular fashion at London’s most explosive sports event of the year. The pair will go head-to-head at an event labelled ‘Clash of Heads’ to be held at the Law Society in London in October.

Both sportsmen were renowned for a no-nonsense approach in their sporting careers and now their views on all forms of sport follow are equally hard hitting. Razor was a firebrand for England, Liverpool, Spurs and West Ham United amongst others and was named in the top 20 hardest players of all time.  John Bentley is a former police officer who has criss-crossed the rugby code, enjoying success at club and international level in both rugby league and rugby union and cemented his place in sporting history as a winger on the victorious 1995 Lions tour to South Africa.

Clash of Heads is a Fighting Talk-style event in which Razor, Bentley and legendary Great Britain coach, player and four-time Fighting Talk finalist, Brian Noble will discuss and expound upon the sporting topics of the day. It is based on the successful BBC format and will be chaired by BBC Rugby League commentator, Dave Woods.

Speaking about the event, Razor said: “I am really looking forward to the London Rugby League Foundation Dinner, I am a life-long admirer of Rugby League, its values and the athletes.” John Bentley was also keen to stress why he is supporting the Foundation. He said: “I know and understand at first hand the values associated with rugby league and I look forward to supporting this great charity in London.”
