Hard Rock Cafe London Origin Series Kicks Off!

9th September 2016

The 2016 Hard Rock Cafe London Origin Series kicks off this Saturday 10th September at Elmbridge Eagles Rugby League Club in Surrey.

The Origin series was created by the RFL in 2006 as part of a programme to select a South of England regional team to progress to national trials.  The London Rugby League Foundation now runs the programme in partnership with the London Youth, Junior & Primary League and London Broncos. The aim of the series is to provide additional and more challenging playing opportunities for players, aiming to secure a place with the London Broncos on their Under 16 and Under 19 Academy programmes. The programme also provides development opportunities for coaches and extends the playing season for club players in London and the South East.

The Hard Rock Cafe London has supported rugby league in London for 6 years, funding vital programmes to grow participation in Greater London, including a major project in East London around the 2012 Olympics which included the establishment of new club, Newham Dockers. In recent years, their support has enabled the continuation of schools programmes and competition in East and South London, junior player development days and more recently the employment of apprentice communtiy coaches in the Foundation.
