The rugby league season in London is in full swing and the biggest game in the Rugby League calendar, the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup Final, is back at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 26th August.
This year the Foundation will be running a game day Primary Rugby League festival for club teams at Under 7, Under 9 and Under 11. The festival will be held on the morning of the final at The Hive, Canons Park, the home of Barnet FC, after which players will travel down the road to take part in a pitch parade at Wembley Stadium. Players and coaches will go behind the scenes, experience the stadium from pitchside and walk in the footsteps of their rugby league heros, before taking their seats for the 2017 Challenge Cup Final.
Managing Director, Dan Steel, said "This is a fantastic opportunity for clubs to celebrate the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup Final weekend in London. The festival at The Hive will be a great way to close the season for many primary rugby league teams in the South East, and a brilliant opportunity to play against teams from all over the country. we're delighted we can work with the RFL to give kids the chance to get down to pitchside for the match and it'll be a memorable day for any young people taking part."
The offer is not restricted to clubs in the South East, and expressions of interest are invited from anywhere in the country. If you’d like to take part, please contact Dan Steel for more information on travel, timings and tickets at [email protected].
Deadline for entry is Wednesday 19th July!
